As a psychotherapist, I've been helping people since the late 1970s, and in the early 1990s I developed severe insomnia. It would take me 2-3 hours to fall asleep, I'd sleep lightly for a couple of hours, and then I'd be awake.
I had tried all the experts' suggestions, but none of them were effective. Over countless nights, during the hours it would take me to fall asleep or back to sleep, I observed what was happening in my body and mind as I got closer to sleep.
